WIP Wed/Weekend/Whatever/Someone Help Me Get My Shit Together Please

I've been tagged a few times over the last two weeks and I've got no excuse except that I was writing drabbles and prompts and just generally fucking around. It's like everything is more appealing than the things I need to get done, you know?

Thank you to @penny00dreadful for this most recent tag which is hopefully lighting a fire? Or maybe just encouraging me to play with matches. Who knows.

Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to post!

I am going to take a page out of Penny's book and include a poll and attempt to write as many words as % of votes the WIP gets (i.e. if an option gets 40% of the vote I will make it my goal to write 4,000 words in the next 7 days etc.) for all of the options listed.

Snippet below the cut is from "Eddie's babies" which is inspired by @doomcheese's lovely artwork which you can find here.

One of the bats - the one that had hissed - nuzzles against Eddie’s collarbone where his shirt is ripped and bloody. The other perches on Eddie’s bent elbow like a hawk. Talons gripping the skin of Eddie’s arm but not breaking it. Bringing his hand up, he cups it’s head, petting gently. When it bumps it’s head against Eddie’s palm, it lets out a chirp, mouth open, showing off several rows of sharp teeth. The chirp turns into a happy purr and Eddie sort of melts. They’re just sweet babies. Holding them both close, Eddie coos, bumping their heads with his nose as their tails flick and swish, curling delicately around his thigh and waist as both bats allow themselves to be cuddled.

Well I just posted Iris, a special fic request. Now I can work on the poll results.... Jealous Joker coming right up!!🤭y'all are too much! I love a jealous J so its all good. He's gonna be quite unhinged in this one (I got some issues I need resolved) I got some ideas from a daydream or two that I want to try out.

Jealous J an old request (August ask box where you at?!) that's being restored from my ask box so I'm very happy to fill it. I think my inbox is broken because it displays eight yet I refresh and boop. Ten more appear....... 👀🙃

I also want to finish Frost's POV fic too and then add a good 5K words on the chapter update. Its gonna be a filler chapter but much needed to get a big event in motion.

Top goal for the upcoming weekend: make some decent progress (or maybe even finish???) my current painting project that I've been only working on in dribs and drabs for weeks.

my weekend reading plans! it’s going to be hot and bucketing down with rain all weekend (the joys of living in a tropical climate during wet season), so staying inside in reach of fans, and occasionally the air conditioner, with some good books is my plan for the whole weekend. what are you reading atm? any reading plans for the weekend?

It’s the weekend again! Time to announce some goals!

Finish up Frost POV fic

Add 4K words to chapter (that smut scene needs to be completed🤤)

Head canon? Outline a new anon oneshot?

We’re getting new furniture in the living room so I’m super excited to see how much writing in can get done in a new environment. I usually write in the dark (lol don’t judge me) in my bedroom closet or in my office. Fingers crossed for productivity!

I want to make it known about where I stand regarding the whispers about tumblr going down.

I’m not jumping ship. I’m still here. You all know I cross post on A03 and Wattpad and I’m tempted to get my own domain although I’m not quite sure since I’m not that tech savvy. Bottom line: I’m not going anywhere.

I’ve been on tumblr loooong before the NSFW purge. Why leave now?
